Wiim Mini and External DAC Vs Pro Plus

I started with a WiiM Mini and soon bought a Topping EX5 DAC/Headphone Amp because the Mini's DAC is sonically poor. The Topping expired under warranty and I took the refund from Amazon. It was difficult to obtain a replacement directly from China because the price had gone up and I had to pay...

    Hooking Wiim Pro to AVR

I have a WiiM Pro feeding into a vintage Arcam AVR300 (in stereo direct mode) via a Cambridge Audio DACMagic 200M headphone amp/DAC and vintage KEF Q3 speakers, along with a REL subwoofer. The result is the best hifi sound I've had from the Arcam and KEF speakers ever, even better than when I...

    Connect echo show via bluetooth

On my WiM Pro I have it in a "Living Room" group and simply ask "Alexa, play xxx (song or album) by yyyy (artist) in Living Room." It works well except for albums with long titles.

Streaming service OR your own local content?

I have 24,000 tracks on my local drive and an Amazon Unlimited subscription and listen to both equally. I prefer to listen to whole albums when streaming and a random selection when listening to my own music.

    Balance Control

I see 'play last' has been included in addition to the existing 'play next' command when constructing playlists. 👍

Reminds me when this was the essential spare part for 1970's British cars ..

    What are you listening to?

I used to work with a guy whose father loved Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass. One day his father asked him if he could copy it to MP3 and do something to remove the scratches. My colleague made an MP3 copy and used a high frequency filter to remove the noise the scratches made before giving...

Since update, 24/192 files on all services started skipping

No, just curious. The only issue I have had with my Wiim's was getting LMS Material Skin to work which thanks to this forum was quickly resolved.
