WiiM Pro Plus - now ROON ready and certified

The WiiM community is way way smaller than Apple's.. So server capacity should not be an issue. And not everyone would update at the same time if you make it a user choice, so I don't see this as a problem. You say you have the option to upgrade or decline: yes, that is what I remember from...

WiiM Pro Plus - now ROON ready and certified

..which is a shame ;). It should be available when it's ready, for everyone, on demand. I'm happy the Pro+ is finally Roon Ready and the update will arrive soon. But in a broader context I think it's not done to push updates without user consent, at an unknown moment. Think Apple: it is not...

    12 volt trigger out

Thanks, I understand your reasoning. I myself also found out the same (using the Vocomo switch): that plugging it in/out did activate the relay but not when leaving it in. I didn't understand why, and I think 'coppo23' did pinpoint the cause earlier in this thread (after I already found a...

    12 volt trigger out

Hi Ton, great work! Making this circuit so small with SMD components is a brilliant idea. Quick question out of curiosity: why not use the circuit of 'coppo23' earlier in this thread? Same number of components, but without any delay time ;).

WimM Pro & Roon Backup Issue.

Just experienced it too. Hadn't used this speaker for a few days but today it was missing in 'Roon Ready'. Rebooting the WiiM Pro solved it. Maybe this issue is since the last firmware update, never had this before.

    12 volt trigger out

Hi Uvi, I tried the Vocomo switch too (see my first message in this thread), both the V1 and V2 version. They don't work as they should and I saw the exact same behaviour you describe. The problem is not the Vocomo switch but an internal issue in the WiiM as described by coppo23 above. There is...

    12 volt trigger out

Np problem, let me know (in Dutch 😊) if you want one. I think I even have some spare components for an extra board if you need those too.

    12 volt trigger out

Soldered the PCB and all working good with a 9V Zener diode as suggested. Thanks again coppo23. I'll leave it at that in this thread as it does not seem to affect many people. I have a few spare PCB's for both circuits (minimum order was 5) so if anyone is interested and able to source the...

    12 volt trigger out

Finished my trigger relay using the circuit from my earlier post. Works flawlessly! I'm waiting for another PCB I made with coppo23's circuit. Will test that too, using a relay with a somewhat higher rated current as the one I used in this build.

    12 volt trigger out

I’m using a 2A 5V supply only for the WiiM so a dip in the PSU current does not seem likely. Thanks a lot for your schematic! When I’m back home in a few weeks I will test further and see what works best for me. Good to know your solution works and is tested to be reliable.

    12 volt trigger out

Thanks coppo23, I also noticed the trigger output current is able to hold the relay when already active but not trigger it. Your explanation sounds plausible! Would you mind describing your circuit? Maybe it is an easier solution than the one I tested. And after reading your comment: maybe even...

    12 volt trigger out

I can confirm the WiiM 12V trigger current is too low for a normal relay. I tried this one which should have a low current requirement and it did not trigger the relay. An SSR like this did work when tested switching a 230V ligthbulb by the 12V WiiM trigger but these are normally used to switch...
