Brown Sound

Born and raised in Indiana. Spent about 20 years in Colorado, specifically Northern Colorado and the Colorado Springs area. I'm an USAF Cold War veteran, I was stationed at Hahn AB, in the former West Germany and at Cheyenne Mtn AFB, Colorado Springs, CO. Now I'm back home again in Indiana. I am an electronic/PC technician by trade, currently I am a kiosk technician.

My interests include music, music collecting and music history, films and film history. I also enjoy building, maintaining and configuring computers and of course, the hobby of HiFi equipment with a special interest in digital streaming and files. I have been a music lover and budget audiophile since the early and late seventies respectively.

As far as gear, in addition to the stuff listed in the Audio Setup section below, here are a few other items.
- 2 channel rig (Adcom pre and power amp, Denon TT, Yamaha cassette, Oppo disc spinner).
- Surround system (Pioneer AVR, Sony UHD & BD and that two timing Oppo!!).
- Extra stuff, Synology NAS for audio and video rips, Lenovo i5 mini PC (dedicated to LMS and Roon), RPi4 Roon end-point running RoPieeeXL with a 7" touchscreen, Douk amp/speaker switcher (with VU meters!!), an assortment of IEMs and cans for personal listening. Also a bunch Polk speakers for everything and about a half a dozen assorted PCs. There are other items, portables and old stuff, but this is getting silly, lol. Just ask, if you wanna talk about old gear and PCs. Cheers.

As stated above, I am a technician, having worked on F-16s and computers for the USAF and then as a PC, POS, ATM tech and lastly as a calibration tech at Sony DADC. I also have a drawer of degrees: AS in Armament Sys Tech, AS in Electronic Tech, BS in Electronic Engineering Tech and BS in Telecom Engineering Tech. None of which really help when your almost 60 and laid off. But that's okay, I've still got music, because everyone knows all I wanna do is dance, right! Cheers!
