Feature Suggestion: User-Created VU Meter Designs & Community Submissions

I use the Vumeter to check the stream volume all the time and if a signal is present, otherwise configuring differnt source/output is a real pain. Plus I would add a feature that associate different vumeters to different sources/outputs to be able to know what is actually playing, A spectrogram...

Feature Suggestion: User-Created VU Meter Designs & Community Submissions

WiiM devices are based on Linkplay hardware, pretty much an hardware specific to audio solution. In a well designed device the audio processing should and is completely separated and independent from the UI. Is it possible to design a device so badly that the VUMeter function could interfere...

Feature Suggestion: User-Created VU Meter Designs & Community Submissions

Excellent point sir. I didn't considered that angle, Thanks for your point of view. VU meters have been an iconic part of audio for decades, and for some of us, having the option to tweak or design our own isn’t just fluff — it’s a way to make our setup feel personal and connected to the...

Feature Suggestion: User-Created VU Meter Designs & Community Submissions

Good project 👍 As far as I know, there’s no API or tool available that allows users to modify or customize the VU meter or display on the Wiim devices. Unless there’s some undocumented feature or workaround I missed.

Feature Suggestion: User-Created VU Meter Designs & Community Submissions

I wanted to throw an idea out there and see what the community and the Wiim team think. One of the coolest parts of audio culture through the years has been the iconic VU meters — from old-school analog needles to nixie tubes, FM tuners, cassette deck displays, and even classic Winamp...

Is the Wiim Home for Windows App ultimately a 'zombie app'?

No idea, I didn't open the app in a while. I don't think anybody expect the Windows App to index music on the phone (for whoever still use their phone like ipod I guess). Plex generally run on a local NAS. Soome kind of storage unit, synology or similar or for the ubernerds a dedicated linux...

Is the Wiim Home for Windows App ultimately a 'zombie app'?

if the app try to index local or network files, or try to centralize the interface for multiple streaming service mean that it try to be plex. The idea is that people should be able to use the full UI/interface/application of the service they already use while also being able to access the WiiM...

Is the Wiim Home for Windows App ultimately a 'zombie app'?

I really have no idea how people use their WiiM devices or for what purposes. The emphasis should be on the device itself and not the streaming service. The application and marketing strategy should focus on the things that can be done exclusively with a WiiM device. Every basic "dumb" smart...

Is the Wiim Home for Windows App ultimately a 'zombie app'?

In my mind trying to compete with Plex is a very wrong strategy :). The whole WiiM product/philosopy is a bit confusing. How to handle sources (streaming services/local files/whatever you feed into line in or optical) should be completely separated from application control the actual hardware...

Is the Wiim Home for Windows App ultimately a 'zombie app'?

LOL, is it still in beta? I developed a Wiim Remote control 1 year ago and pretty much stop supporting it because they announced their own Windows Client... I guess it could be my xmas project

Are WiiM Amp, WiiM Pro Plus, WiiM Pro and WiiM Ultra compatible with WiiM Mini protocol?

I'm the developer of the Windows Store App: https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9nc9q98gzmlr?rtc=1&hl=en-us&gl=US and I would like to give the project a refresh. I was wondering if the original protocol is still compatible with the new WiiM devices and if anybody can test if the basic functions...

    Improved Alarm Features

Lol the Squeezebox. I didnt hear about it for a long time. Pretty messy how Logitech handle the thing, almost as messy as their Harmony stuff... Other companies should study how bad Logitech manage to screw things up. My main objection with Wiim light (and partially to how alarms are handle on...

    Improved Alarm Features

Yes, agree. The alarm should works no matter what. They had the opportunity to work on the alarms for their new Wiim light but they didn't really considered the alarma critical piece of the product even though is one the main feature / usercase.
