I'm not versed in pigion-English. The User Manual doesn't suggest that Alexa is required. It states that the unit can be used with Alexa. And nowhere in the User Manual does it speak of "Alexacast" which i s the technology i suppose they are trying to talk about. STFU.
Really? Not what the company says:"TOSLINK optical input. The input signal is processed by a high quality onboard Asynchronous Sample Rate Converter for compatibility with most common sample rates (20–216kHz)"
It's set to 192 24 intge wiim app.
I have an Amazing Music app..but i see no "toggle" of any kind.
I have no plans to ever use ALEXA In this house.
If I have to have Alexa this is going back.
I have a week old WiimPro and on Amazon HD music it runs at 44.1K no matter what song, no matter what resolution Amazon says it is.
SETUP
IOS-->Wifi-->WiimPro<--->TOSLINK<--->Cambridge DAC Magic 200--->Stereo system.
I only bought this for the Hi Res, so if it doesn't work I want to return it...
Thanks K.
Once I understood how the BT works, I considered maybe connecting my TV. That was why I asked how BT was being used. Apparently, it's much more than just "configuring the unit." It can be used with a host of BT devices.
There may be less critical devices I could use the Wiim to...
Redundant? No, that's not the right word at all. I can only conclude you don't know anywhere near enough about the product to be hassling me over my questions. Let it be, and maybe others have the correct information.
I understand your answer. However, I'm not sure that addresses my question about the use of BT. Example: On page 3 of the included WiimPro Quick Guide, it says the following: "Stream your favorite music, radio stations through WiFi or Bluetooth. Having multiple WiimPro devices, play streaming...
Hi Klipscher,
I'm using the iPad to run Amazing Music app with Wiim into a Cambridge DAC, then into my Carver preamp then into a miniDSP feeding two Carver amps into my bi-amped open baffle speakers. It has been working ok, and it sounds pretty good with Amazon Music. The only thing I don't...
Thanks.. absolutely no offense taken. I wanted to switch to Amazon Music from Spotify for The higher res music. Spotify was ok for casual, but didn't compare to my CDs. So, I probably wouldn't benefit much from Sonos based on your comments.
However, in many ways I sort of regret even...
Hi,
Sure.
First off, I am NOT familiar with a lot of digital technology. My interest is in the music. So, I consider that any retail product I buy shouold carry no assumptions about my knowledge of the device aforehand.
1. As soon as I saw the tiny User Guide, I went through it and found this...
I incorrectly said "settings" when I mean to say "setup." If your BT isn't recognized after you complete "setup" the app doesn't allow you back to "setup". You have to hold a symbol on the box for some number of seconds to go back to setup. That doesn't make sense to me.
But once more, a...
Indeed, I'm old and grumpy. I threaten to smash my i Phone at least three times a day. I allowed myself to get sucked into digital audio one step at a time. If it gets too much more frustrating, I'll go back to LPs.
People still cherish and pay dearly for great audio gear that was introduced 50 years ago! A Marantz, a McIntosh, an Audio Research piece. No one will cherish any of this digital detritis even a year from now. We all have that drawer filled with yesterday's cell phones, iPods, DACs, digital...
I've been buying stereo gear since 1970. I'm accustomed to manufacturers that have the resources to properly complete their offerings by considering the user experience. I'm referring to REAL companies that have the resources to be in a consumer market. They can take the time to write user...
