The explanation in the link says that they thought they could provide Airplay, but a hardware limitation prevented it, and they decided to not delay the product to fix it. Translation, there was a mistake in the hardware design.

I’m surprised that the Wiim Amp has Airplay but the Amp Pro doesn’t. Is it a cost saving issue, not paying a royalty?

Hearing ability is not the same for everyone. If you read the research on audibility of distortion, you will see that some people have much more ability to hear the distortion. Maybe you don’t. Fortunately, I don’t think that I do.

Does the Wiim Mini PEQ have four bands available?

GEQ is a subset of PEQ so you could easily implement it, but it would be very easy for Wiim to keep GEQ along with the new PEQ.

The miniDSP Flex is outstanding, see audiosciencereview, and costs $500. Of course I would prefer to save that money, especially since the feature has been promised and to keep the number of connectors minimized.

Show me an analog parametric eq that has even half of the features of a DSP peq. Even one with severely limited flexibility costs thousands of dollars. Inaudible changes don’t matter.

I noticed that PEQ is not on the Roadmap for the Wiim Pro now. Is this an oversight? I very much hope so. It would be a great feature.
