Until last week, Rotel RA-1520.
Now, a Yamaha Aventage RX A4A.
We went mainly for increased power, and because this Yamaha can be configured to bi-amp the main speakers. But it's a whole new world going from a classic integrated amp to a modern, complex AV behemoth.
True, but the way it gets around it is kind of hacky:
So, while doable, I'd rather have a "proper" Windows app (which isn't quite "proper", since it's a browser with some wrapping around it) dealing with media keys, instead of having my browser play some quiet file. My sound setup is a bit...
I find one good reason to prefer it over a normal browser: media keys. If I am at the office (working on the computer) I always prefer using the media keys on my keyboard. Other than that, not really.

Just kidding. I don't want to wallow further about Plex sans Tidal. Wiim can do Tidal. And LMS, which in my case, has the same library as Plex. And now, Wiim will do Plex. Polyamomorous streaming is fun!
I am a little late to the party. Just want to +1 on the full Wiim as a full Plexamp renderer implementation, because:
Gapless, gapless, gapless. Wiim already does for the other services. Plex can Chromecast to Wiim, sure. But not gaplessly.
Sweet fades! Plex does crossfades like no one else...
Gapless: The Holy Grail...
Chromecast is not implemented for gapless. There is one exception, though. If you use LMS (Lyrion Media Server) and its Chromecast plugin, you can cast gapless through your Chromecast devices.. And yes, there is a plugin to use DLNA servers (like Plex, when the option...
I am what you could call a "queue junkie". Coming from a DJ background, I like to entertain guests and family members by playing the right tracks at the right time. Which means, constantly modifying the queue. As of now, the best all-around service for this is LMS, since I can
add music from...
OMG! You are right! I assumed that this was the old one. Since it's still authored by Logitech... But I just installed it, and it works without relying on mysqueezebox.com
+1 on the request.
As for going through LMS, today that doesn't seem like the best option, since mysqueezebox.com has left the building, and with it, DI.fm LMS app. As of now, one can certainly add a pls playlist with the desired station(s). I've already built some code to generate their URLs...
I'm all in for USB out and aluminium case! (nice USB DAC and all silver components around here)
The screen is nice, but I won't kill or break the bank for it.
