WiiM amp subwoofer output port voltage?

Great, that makes sense. I didn't think to look up the input impedance of the LFE inputs on the SVS site, which you apparently went to the effort to do here. So thanks! If the Wiim Amp sub out was so wimpy it couldn't drive an 8 kOhm load, it would be a real problem, and would be noticed by the...

WiiM amp subwoofer output port voltage?

Hi all, Here's one I haven't found any information on from doing a search. Is there sufficient voltage and current at the Amp's RCA sub out jack to drive two subwoofers via a Y-splitter? The subs in question (SVS) can be daisy-chained so I wouldn't need to deal with this, but they're located in...

Subwoofer out filter options, or none?

Thanks. As I surmised and you confirm, I can do what I prefer if I connect with speaker level inputs to the sub like with a REL sub. But if I want to stay digital, I have to use the WiiM for my filtering, OK. Not my preference so I'll submit a ticket if it helps......

Subwoofer out filter options, or none?

Hey all, I've tried to search on this topic, but what info I could find seems to be conflicting, and the online documentation isn't helpful either. I have standmount speakers being driven by the WiiM Amp, and I'm using an SVS SB1000 Pro subwoofer driven from the Amp's sub-out. I have activated...

Playing aif files on usb stick with Amp

Downloaded the trial version of Mp3tag for Mac and was able to open the aif files no problem.

Do voice commands work only when playback is started by a voice command in the first place (vs. preset buttons, or the WiiM app)?

Cool, that's exactly how I'd be using it as well. I use my Dots as "voice remotes" throughout my home.

In your setup, does music then play on both the Amp and your Echo Dot? I wouldn't want that. I love the Dots, but the Amp is set up on a real stereo system. When I want that system playing music, I don't want to hear the tinny Dot, fun as it is on its own terms.

Playing aif files on usb stick with Amp

ID3, no idea what that is. Yes, the files are native aif, created from direct CD rips on my old Mac via iTunes circa 2010 or so. I'll convert them all to flac if I absolutely must, but I'd really prefer not to. WiiM is supposed to be Mac-friendly out of the box, so I've been a bit surprised that...

Playing aif files on usb stick with Amp

Update: No success. Amp still doesn't recognize aif files on my disk after the firmware update. WiiM App shows the firmware has been updated. I had the Amp re-scan the stick drive, no luck. It plays the flac files on the stick no problem, but not aif.

Do voice commands work only when playback is started by a voice command in the first place (vs. preset buttons, or the WiiM app)?

I think I have it working now. I had it linked to Alexa already, but Alexa wasn't sending commands to the WiiM Amp. I changed the name of the device in the Amazon Alexa app and that seems to have solved the problem; I can now tell Alexa "Play X on Amazon Music on Streaming Amp" and I get a...

Do voice commands work only when playback is started by a voice command in the first place (vs. preset buttons, or the WiiM app)?

This is what I've been trying to figure out too, so a tutorial like this would definitely be appreciated on this end. I use Alexa Voice via multiple Echo Dots, Shows and Fire Tablets (wall mounted) throughout my home to control so many devices and actions at this point, I'm hooked. I would love...

Metadata better than wav, worse than flac.

Playing aif files on usb stick with Amp

FYI Part 2--Since this is just a test USB stick I've been using at 8GB in size, the number of files involved is modest at <300. So I went ahead and cleared the drive, converted the files from .aif to .flac via the free utility MediaHuman Audio Converter for Mac, and re-loaded the stick. WiiM Amp...

Playing aif files on usb stick with Amp

Unfortunately, since day 1 of digital media, you Pee Cee guys have always had it better than us in the Mac space. I got initiated into Macs in 1987 by my employer--they put a Mac SE on my desk and told me to use it--and I've been Mac ever since. Things haven't been helped by Apple's close-vested...
