Sorry, two things I should have added to the original post.
First, it's the Wiim Mini app for iOS on an iPhone which no longer sees the USB music files in the Home Music Share tab. (I have tried the Mac OS app on a MacBook Air a while back without success.)
Second, I can play the music files...
Hi,
I've been able to play music files on a USB drive on a NetGear EX6200 range extender (which is DLNA compatible) with a Wiim Mini until recently when the files were no longer present in the Home Music Share tab. The USB drive, and all the files on it, are accessible on a MacBook Air in the...
Finally, a resolution: the source of the hum was the power supply to the Wiim Mini (240V --> %v, 1A). Replaced the power supply with an iPhone charger and there was no hum.
Thanks everyone. The hum problem seems to have resolved after (1) using a different power outlet for the Mini; (2) replacing the signal cable from the Mini to the preamp; and (3) separating signal and power cables as much as possible.
Don't know if any one of these was effective or a...
I’ll try another RAC cable and post what happens. I haven’t noticed any change in the hum when I move or juggle the Mini or the cables but I’ll look more systematically.
Thanks guys for your replies.
Hi All
I have a Wiim Mini with the Aux Out connected by cables to the Tuner input on a preamp. This system has recently developed a hum when the Mini is turned on (it's a 50-Hz hum, I'm in Australia). The hum is noticeable with the power amp volume control turned down completely, and increases...
I'm getting large volume changes even while a single track is playing when playing Tidal with a Wiim Mini. I'm using the Wiim Home iOS app on an iPhone. Both the Tidal and Wiim Home apps are the current versions and the Wiim Mini firmware is also current.
I have the following settings:
Tida...
Correct: the iOS app on my Mac doesn't show MinimServer.
Might stick to the iPhone app for now--at least it plays the music files stored on a USB memory stick plugged into my router. Scanning other posts in this forum shows pretty widespread dissatisfaction with either the iOS or Mac OS Beta...
The issue seems to be the one identified by whodiini above. Minimserver works running the home app on my iPhone but not on my M1 Mac either with the native Mac OS app (version 0.1.5) or the iOS app (version 2.7.4).
Is it worth raising this with Wiim support?
I have a similar problem with the Wiim Home app on an M1 MacBook running the most recent Mac OS (Sonoma 14.1.2).
No problem though with the Home app on my iPhone. Home Music Share shows and plays via Serviio or MinimShare (if active) and even the music files on a USB memory stick in my router...
