Hello Hawki16. I have a Wiim mini, a cheap Douk amp and a power supply in a waterproof enclosure on my back patio by the pool. I tucked it under a counter ledge for my Outdoor kitchen and have grommets protecting the power and speaker cables. Sound is delivered via some old Klipsch outdoor...
I have a Wiim Pro running coax to a Marantz NR1200. it powers two patio speakers outdoors. On the other side of the yard a Wiim mini connected to a cheap class d amp powers two more Klipsch outdoor speakers. They synch up just fine.
I did the same thing for years using an Amazon Echo Input connected to a cheap class D Douk amp.
This weekend I just finished the setup of my Wimm mini in a similar configuration. It is working fine. We'll see how it does in the Texas heat this summer.
Just got a Marantz NR-1200. I want to connect my WiiM pro to the Marantz *and* a secondary amp to power patio speakers. Should I use a SPIDF splitter from the WiiM to both amps or the Zone out RCA from the Marantz to send music to the patio amp?
Nice looking HDMI, possibly the USB would allow the ability to stream from a music library on a disk? A Pre-out to connect a Zone 2 amp would be pretty sweet. I will likely buy one or two.
Good suggestion Brantome. I can play music through Amazon Music to an Alexa Speaker group but the sound bar and the WiiM Pro are way out of synch. I get the same out of synch issue when I ask Alexa to cast music to the speaker group.
Update: I pressed and held down the Alexa button on the Yamaha ATS-2090 and the network light started blinking. On the second try I was able to get the WiiM Home app to identify the sound bar and I can play music from Amazon music through the sound bar.
My only issue now is I still can't synch...
A WiiM all-in-one solution would be ideal. I believe Fosi audio built one but it lacked the WiiM EQ controls.
A Fosi V3 type amp with an embedded WiiM would be awesome.
