    Native DSD support via USB

What's I mean is all playback is via transcoding to PCM, not native DSD, despite the DAC chipsets used in the Pro Plus and Ultra being capable of native DSD: https://faq.wiimhome.com/en/support/solutions/articles/72000632263-playing-dsd-audio-files-on-wiim-devices

    Native DSD support via USB

The DAC chipset itself used in the Pro Plus, and Ultra is DSD capable, but for whatever reason WiiM have chosen not to enable it.

Presets 5-8 now available from the remote 2!

In the world of truly bizarre, this is now no longer working when yesterday it surely was. Today when I double press the Remote 1 buttons I only get Presets 1-4. For sure it worked last night when I first tried it.

SACD audio layer to WiiM Amp

The Samsung TV cannot output the SACD layer, though it should output the SACD layer as 16/44.1 if you have that output set to PCM and not Bitstream. The Samsung TV also cannot process native DSD, when you listen via the TV speakers that is no doubt also downsampled to PCM.

Presets 5-8 now available from the remote 2!

Interesting, I didn't do anything special, no reboots or re-pairing of the Remote 1 was necessary, I just picked it up and tried it and it works on the Ultra, running firmware v5.2.721349. All of my presets are internet radio stations.

Presets 5-8 now available from the remote 2!

In a previous post above @Wiimer user said he too has it working on the Ultra if I'm not mistaken. Maybe try to erase and re-add presets 5-8?

Presets 5-8 now available from the remote 2!

Exactly, this is already working on my Remote 1 and the WiiM Ultra, with remote firmware version 53.

    Native DSD support via USB

Since none of us know what that backlog actually is, it's pointless to guess out loud about it. As stated previously, simple passthrough via USB only does not seem like some huge ask involving lots of programming, it's already been done for many years on free open source distros running on low...

    Native DSD support via USB

You don't actually know that, and are assuming many things including that any high % of members here even see that upvote icon is available in the site UI. It doesn't exactly stand out. You also assume that every single person who buys an Ultra and would like/use DSD passthrough on it is...

    Native DSD support via USB

Many of us already do, perhaps thats then a very good example in that even players running free open source software have allowed DSD pass through to a USB DAC for many years now, suggesting it is not that difficult and doesn't represent some huge ask of the WiiM software developers.

SONOS announced major updates to app

I'm in the same boat. If I want to listen to a playlist, thats internet radio driven these days, typically Radio Paradise, Mother Earth Radio, The Jazz Groove, or JB Radio2, among others. When I choose the music, it's an album, just like it ever was in the physical media days.

SONOS announced major updates to app

I am unable to muster such a playlist, I've got about 20,000 tracks, and the rest I get from Qobuz.

    Native DSD support via USB

Exactly, and why should that be some sort of huge ask? I'd love to hear WiiM themselves explain why this is such an unconscionable technical hurdle, maybe there is a good reason why not, but I doubt it. I get it, members here and elsewhere are dismissive simply because they don't buy SACDs...

    Native DSD support via USB

Because they have a large number of SACDs? Many people have ripped their SACDs to .dsf files in order to play them over network or even portable devices. SACDs were always a niche/failed format in terms of the masses, however they are still made to this day by various record labels, for example...

WiiM Home TV app Now Available for Android

I agree, Sony's Android TV integration on the U.S. models is also excellent, average non-technically oriented people seem to have no trouble in using it.
