    Multichannel Downmix Support

Gotcha. Yeah I think the DLNA Plex integration is unfortunately more of an afterthought than anything else :/ If I recall, there's a memory leak some people experience when using that eventually eats up all the RAM on the host server. The feature is so sparsely used that the bug has remained...

    Multichannel Downmix Support

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe DLNA is basically a file sharing protocol, so I don't think any sort of transcoding is natively integrated. I used the Plex DLNA indexing feature for some time until Plex received native support via WiiM Home. If Linkplay casting via Plex was introduced...

    Multichannel Downmix Support

Sad sad. Some of these records only gave decent dynamic range on the multichannel releases.

    Multichannel Downmix Support

I follow your logic, but at the same time, Dolby is a specific multichannel codec and not necessary for multichannel support.

    Multichannel Downmix Support

It's been hard for me to track down an answer for this. I have a handful of 5.1 and 7.1 mixes that I typically listen to on Plexamp. The native plexamp app has the option to downmix these to stereo when I listen at my computer or in the car. However, Plexamp is incapable of casting this downmix...

UMIK-1 mic support for room correction

The reco from @Burnside is probably best. I've tested with the UMIK and compared against newer Pixel and older iPhone mics. The UMIK outperformed both, but made a much more marginal difference than using stereo correction or selecting the correct target curve, for example. Certainly well...

Plex Integration (In-App and as Plexamp Player)

You may be right that there's limited radio station functionality. I hadn't dug in because I'm an album listener but here's all I see under "Stations"

Plex Integration (In-App and as Plexamp Player)

Radio Stations, yes. Guessing no for guest DJ and Sonic adventure. I've used the former once, which was cool, but latter I have not - I liked sonic sage while tidal was still integrated.

Plex Integration (In-App and as Plexamp Player)

Plex definitely seems strapped for resources much of the time. Their client support list is outrageously long and their product development has been shifting away from power users to more explicit revenue generation. I need to be in the WiiM app to link additional rooms, anyway, so no big...

Plex Integration (In-App and as Plexamp Player)

I must say, the Plex source UI via the WiiM app has come a long way since its launch and navigates damn well. Additionally, play data is now sent back to your server / scrobbled. At this point it is very close to a full replacement for Plexamp.

UMIK-1 mic support for room correction

Very cool update. With RC now available on the Mini I was able to upload calibration and run correction in my bedroom with no issue this morning. Very nice to have individual channel EQ available on those devices now.

    Ongoing Beta Beta Test: Plex

@JeffW you make a great point. I often audition records on a friend's server before deciding I want to add it to my own. It's one of if the nice social features of Plex. Right now I have to use Plexamp for this and am then hamstrung by Chromecast. A power-user feature, for sure.

UMIK-1 mic support for room correction

Ah yes, the WiiM mic is denoted here.

UMIK-1 mic support for room correction

Personally, I had no indication that the UMIK was being used in the (Android) WiiM app. I jumped into a voice recording app and tapped first on my phone and then the UMIK and it was clear the UMIK was being used. My assumption is that it was used by the WiiM RC as well because the resultant EQ...
