My Pro Plus feeds a Red Rose Model 3 preamp, Model 2 amp, Red Rose R3 speakers, AND an Adcom GFP-750, a pair of Hafler XL-600’s, Dynaudio Audience 8 speakers for when I really want to rock. The entire system puts out 3,270 watts - 1,635 per channel.
I have a Pro and a Pro Plus. Question - is the output voltage selection achieved through dithering or is it attenuating the voltage going to the DAC chip itself? If the latter - what is the effect on distortion and headroom?
Thanks,
I refuse to buy one until I know it will play DSD files. I got suckered in upgrading from a Pro to a Pro Plus with the promise of DSD per the Dac specs but it was bogus. I’m not greeting suckered again.
I was hoping for the ability to play DSD files, and that’s why I upgraded. It’s silly - they should enable the ability to handle DSF and DFF files and it would be a true gem!
Same thing with my Marantz streamer. Problem was that vTuner license ran out and now it costs $5 per year to renew. I gladly pay it because I think the streaming quality is better.
It was just down.
