An update, mine just shipped from a local AU dealer. So will be interesting to see how long it takes to show up on Amazon from here.

I doubt they'll have any on the Amazon store before the local distros have it. Pre-ordered mine for $499 at the start of December. Mid December I got a message saying the main distributor weren't expecting units until mid January. So we'll see if it comes this month or not.

Yeah, so rubbish we always seem to be last in line. Looking like late January at the earliest -_-

based on one of the reviews, I believe you can turn this one off. They also commented it wasn't as bright as one of the other devices they owned.

Agree, looks silly and unnecessary.

It's not just people starting out per se, it's the practicalities of system size in small rooms. No point having a big system when a class D will nicely drive a pair of full range speakers in an apartment living room. Similarly, no point having a full AVR when you only need to drive a stereo...
