Not far from where we live. Once upon a time we worked at the Albert Schweitzer Center just down the road.

In my first post I was trying to make the point that even on such a small tape width and spooling at such a slow speed, the manufacturers managed to get an amazing sound quality from a cassette and it can be hard to believe that they did. I don't own many prerecorded tapes but Graceland was one...

Home taped sounded great if you did it on the first play of the record and not the 30th and only played it on your personal machine. 🤣

At least you didn't have the clicks and pops of vinyl. 🤣

More tape spooling. It's hard to believe any quality of sound came from 0.15 inches of tape running at 1 7/8 ips.

This SABA stereo radio (that was my dad's pride and joy) and this Craig portable cassette player that I managed as an eleven year old to connect its output to the input on the back of the radio. The European connections made for some interesting trial and error. :)

Needledropping with a state of the art cartridge and stylus. :p
