The idea is for the Wiim to have Plexamp not Plex itself. You will still need to have your Plex server powered on.

The LMS community folks have already created a new Tidal plugin that removes any reliance from the mysqueezebox.com service. It's in development now and works well. I believe there is also work on a new Pandora plugin as well

I agree, the Wiim as a player for Plexamp would be ideal. I probably wouldn't use it but I can see others using it as there primary. I think Plex and Plexamp are pretty good.

I use Plexamp basically the same way, in the car and on mobile if I'm away from the house. otherwise I'm using LMS 99% of the time. I haven't tried using tailscale yet.

For Squeezelite support you will need the pro, pro Plus or the amp On the mini your only LMS option is using upnp bridge plugin. If I were you I'd get the pro at a minimum.

Yes, but it will not survive a Wiim reboot. If the Wiim is rebooted for any reason, (firmware update, etc) Squeezelite will revert back to the Wiim name.

If you have a Wiim Pro you should not be using any upnp plugins in LMS. The Wiim Pro has Squeezelite built in and you should be able to see the Wiim from LMS as a player while using LMS with the material skin or the default LMS web interface.
