That certainly is an option but in our house its unfortunately easier said than done. I will certainly consider it. Maybe a password access to the WiiM:USB Disk might be possible in the future instead of an enable/disable feature?

I bought my Ultra to primarily play my own music collection from an attached USB SSD, and it works beautifully with very high quality controls, conversion, app, etc. My only issue is this: The Ultra automatically make my USB disk and its contents available on the Wifi network as “WiiM:USB Disk”...

I listen to classical music with a high dynamic range. At low volume levels I sometimes do hear a reduction in the overall sound quality (stereo image, reverb trails, etc.). I also wanted to avoid having to have two different devices controlling the volume.

Update: I removed the unit from power for several hours. I reconnected and booted up and the mini finally found the network and I could reconnect to it via the app. The red LED loop of death was no longer. However, I couldn’t play any music anymore. I could now do a factory reset though...

I have reported the red LED. A factory reset is not possible. The app cannot connect to the Mini and holding down play for 10 seconds does nothing.

Musicstreamer has been rock solid for me, and yes, it does its own indexing. Unfortunately it can only connect to Wiim through Airplay which reduces all the bitrates to 256. And it would be wonderful if the Wiim app could do its own indexing. It would put it on a different level and I for one...
