Of course a class-D amp has an analog input. I meant it needs a DAC in a device like this. The question is whether the analog inputs will stay analog or not before they get to the amp section. My guess is they will be converted to digital first, like in the Pro Plus.

One thing we have to keep in mind is that a metal case blocks wifi, etc. So a Pro Plus with would need an external antenna with an all-aluminum enclosure. You see little antennae in the back on many DACs in aluminum cases. The upcoming Wiim Amp gets around this by having a plastic bottom, if...

My guess is the volume control is all in the digital domain, and the knob operates an encoder not a pot. That way the volume can be changed by either the knob or the app.

Is the volume control in the digital domain or is it analog? I'm old-fashioned and like a volume knob, so thanks for that.

I was thinking the same thing. I appreciate the outstanding value of the Pro Plus as is, but frankly the overall performance warrants an aluminum case.

I thought it was just a dac/amp. Where are you getting the info that it is a streamer too?

If I were making an amplifier to go with the excellent Wiim Pro+ I would try to make it the same size and color. So... satin black with a slight texture. Edit: I have been informed it is a streamer too, so never mind about matching it to the Pro Plus. I still like satin black tho...
