Since they won’t say, I have a theory bouncing around in my head 🙃 Sonos supports both AirPlay and Apple Music, WiiM does not. Sonos is probably scared of WiiM and have some agreement in place with Apple that is getting in WiiM’s way 🤷♂️ Purely conjecture on my part though 😶
I was all for the Mac Mini Pro until i researched the hell out of it and watched a bunch of YouTube videos (what I usually do before big purchases). Turns out (at least in my research) that the M4 Max Mac Studio is a better buy than the M4 Pro Mac Mini … more ports, better cooling, 10GB port...
Well I pulled the trigger and got the M4 Max Mac Studio … oops … it gets here Friday. I knew I shouldn’t have researched them cause then it’s hard to turn back 🤣 The original one I wanted sold out already right before the buy button, so I got a little less memory than I wanted … though I really...
I’m thinking I can safely get another 3 years out of it … which is amazing for a day-to-day computer (though it did cost me an arm and a leg when I bought this thing). It still does everything I throw at it fine … just some hiccups here and there cause it’s not Apple Silicon. Maybe one day I’ll...
I’ll go through some maintenance steps with my Mac to see if it fixes the issue before reverting back to an earlier release - good to know you’re not having an issue
You can setup your WiiMs as a Speaker Group in the Google Home app, and then Google Cast directly to that speaker group in SiriusXM app. Works well. For me it works much better than using AirPlay (as AirPlay from iOS will eventually stop playing because the device you cast from eventually loses...
I plan to retire this machine at some point as my new Roon Core and hook it up to my TV directly which will have a few advantages. It has 32GB RAM … that and along with an i7 chip should really help manage my large music library in Roon better (less hiccups than my current NUC) 🤞 The problem is...
The latest release - 15.4.1 - a very troublesome release that broke quite a few things (but got all resolved now except for this). I was surprised how much trouble it created … probably cause I’m still on Intel.
Since the Apple TV app is now available, I was happy to see the WiiM Home app in the AppStore on Mac! However, it’s only for M1 or higher macs  So I found the WiiM Home Beta app to download and install and it was newer than my old beta version so that made me happy … until it never opens...
Interesting - I’ll have to think about this (not very good with this type of stuff … lol):
Tailscale is installed already on my Synology NAS (and where Plex server resides)
Need to configure Plex to support Tailscale (I never did this)
Need to figure out how to allow a Tailscale connection...
