Can’t sing, dance or whistle, but music has been apart of my life since as long as I can remember, all popular genres (50’s through 90’s), primarily all tangents of rock, plus r&b, country, soul, punk, new wave, alt… very good at music trivia or recognizing/announcing a song, artist, album or side story, much to the irritation if my wife snd humor of my kids.
I occasionally listen to current music but it has a minor impact or influence. Pre 2000, snd especially 60s & 70’s, any 7 or 8 of 10 songs played were listenable and 5or 6 enjoyable, nowadays maybe 1 or 2 listenable and only 1 (maybe 1) are enjoyable. Generic production, little artist bravery, imagination or vocal skills. Lacks session musicians vs tale loops. I have 11 sets of speakers that I will rotate through my main big sound system and in my office a class D mini tube pre-amp (that I tube roll), a power amp, a canto subwoofer then I rotate out Linn-Kann Mk1 and 5 variations of ADS or Braun 200, L200, L300, L300c, L300i, Sat-6 or Realistic Minimus 7s. I used to own 1100+ LPs (only 150 now), about 200 cassettes and about 350 cds. I primarily listen to tidal and Spotify premiums via phone or laptop just because the sound is very good and so damn convenient. Never to old to Rock & Roll.
