@anonyless .... you are a star and bang on the money, ordered the PO100 on Amazon yesterday and it arrived this morning and is working a treat so a great big thank you.
Apologies as well if I seemed sceptical, it's only because that's how all the other variants I tried have worked so...
Sorry .... I thought it'd post the same result it gave me but I can see it doesn't but basically it infers what I said before that it just passes data for which you can't vary the volume from a computer.
I don't actually own an Ultra, I was asking because if it did I'd buy one.
The room for...
I just stuck it into Gemini and asked and this is the response I got so I guess they're saying it's not possible.

I think the only way I'll be able to do it is with an audio interface that has software you install on your PC that then integrates...
There's certainly a volume slider which works with USB out from my PC to USB in on my amp but it didn't work before when using the Behringer, I think I also put a DAC in the chain though as well .. I'll have a play and try directly into the WiiM and see if it makes a difference.
I have tried a Behringer UCA222 in the past which I'm guessing is similar and you can't control the volume from the PC I think because it's just sending data which on it's own doesn't have a volume as such .... guess the only way I'll find out is try one.
Cheers for that, in the other thread you posted a link for a USB to Toslink adapter, do you have one of those and if so do you know if you can adjust the volume from the computer's controls or can it only be from the amplifier?
I know the input will play USB sticks but can it also be used as an input from USB out on a computer, if so and anyone's done this, can the volume be controlled by the computer or is it just passing data and the volume has to be controlled by the WiiM?
That obviously worked a lot better for you than me, I tried it but about 4 months ago and it was absolutely awful, maybe there's been various updates since and I have Dirac on my Amp but I prefer that without as well .... what you gain in some areas it loses in others.
Whislt I'm always...
I did try a Behringer U-CONTROL UCA222 which does pretty mucjh the same thing, tehfrustrating part about it was you couldn't then adjust the volume from the PC, I'm guessing as it was jus sending data i.e. 1's & 0's and I#m guessing the one you linked to will be the same.
I still have a Pro plugged into the same amp via coax so whenever I want to switch over to that I can, I can still use speaker groups for voice commands for radio etc. which I use quite a lot for multiroom.
I didn't want to pay 2 subscriptions and can't cast from the Amazon App on phone / tablet...
In my opinion the Nano was better .... I've been and still am a huge WiiM fan (3 mini's, 3 Pros and a Pro Plus) and will continue to use them in all non critical listening and multiroom situations but the Nano just sounds better which means I've also had to switch from Amazon Music which is a...
Hard to give it a proper title but I bought a USB KVM Switch hoping to plug 2 different streamers into it and then USB out into my DAC so I could switch straight between them for instant back to back comparisons BUT as soon as I switch to teh other streamer on the switch, the Ultra shows as no...
OK ..... your 1st reply was
The IT wasn't clear / ambiguous, I thought you meant the phone itself, I didn't realise the WiiM App showed which mic it was using, I'll take a look again later.
A side comment, before I tried it with the Umik I ran it with iOS and Android, using the phones mic on...
The title of the thread is
"UMIK-1 mic support for room correction"
I'm trying to use a Umik-1 to do the measurements for the room correction as opposed to the mic on the phone and you asked "doesn't it tell you which mic is being used" .... no it doesn't, so I was asking how you'd know which...
