12v Trigger Argument

I have my Ultra paired with an Advance Paris A10 amp. I can't get them to stop arguing over who's boss. I have tested both units with multimeter and they correctly jump to 12v when powered on but they don't listen to each other. Both want to be the boss. I have a 3.5mm TS mono cable connecting them. Even though the A10 has both trigger in and out, no combination seems to turn the other unit on/off. Does anyone have this pair and have this working?

I found a discrepancy in the online manual which may explain your problem. In the illustration of the rear panel the sockets are labeled TRIGGER OUT 1 & 2, but the written description refers to TRIGGER IN / TRIGGER OUT. The difference suggests to me that some units have one configuration and some the other.

How are the sockets labeled on your unit?

Edit: IF THE WIIM AND THE AMP ARE CONNECTED, DISCONNECT THEM AND DO NOT RECONNECT UNTIL THIS QUESTION IS RESOLVED.

Hi there, thanks for replying WiiMer SJ,
Took me a while to come back after pulling the unit out to see the back plane again. Indeed they are labelled 1 & 2 ! Just dawned on me the implications of what you are saying... you are saying there is no trigger in on both units only trigger out?! Bugger then they are both trying to be the boss even though the documentation lists both?

I wonder if the software updates could turn the Ultra From trigger out to a trigger in stop, here's hoping? Thanks for your perspective.

If your device is labeled TRIGGER OUT 1 & 2, then yes I suspect it has two trigger outputs. It fits with the description you provided in your original post. You could try contacting the manufacturer for clarification. If you do, make sure to reference your device's individual serial number.

This is not the first time I've seen a technical manual that does not reflect a device's actual configuration. Changes get made in the engineering department or on the manufacturing floor, and the technical writers never get the memo or get it wrong.

As to changing the Ultra's trigger functionality? I think I'm on solid footing when I say it's not possible.

If you still want to turn on and off your amp with the Ultra, consider this option:
