Apologies if this has already been posted, but I've searched the forum and couldn't find this topic, and I find this glitch really annoying.

All my music is on a Synolkogy NAS, no streaming services.

With my previous streamer (Cambridge Audio) I could add a song at any time during playing, by simply hit "play next", no matter how I was browsing, the option was always there. I don't seem to be able to find this option in Wiim home unless I search a song. If I browse through my songs or album the option isn't there.

I.e.: say I'm listening to "Abbey Road" and I decide I want to listen to "Karma Police" after the song that's being played. I browse Music->Radiohead->OK Computer->Karma Police and... "Play Next" isn't available... I can only add the song to Favourites or to a Playlist.
But... if i search for Karma Police I get the "Play next" option. As if this wasn't enough, if I select Karma Police to be played next the whole album is added to the cue list. Very frustrating.

I cannot believe that such a basic function isn't there.

Am I missing something or is this something noone at Wiim hasn't thought of?

Please help.

Do you have a media server on the nas, e.g. minimserver?
Maybe try a different app like bubbleupnp or mconnect, especially if just using your own library.
I have tried with different media servers, such as the Synology one and minim server, but the issue is still there

Yes, which is why I'm suggesting using a different control app.
As you only use your own music you can pretty much ignore the wiim app unless you want to change some device settings.
I don't want to ignore the wiim app, I like it. I'm just asking if there's a way to make it do a simple thing that every control app does

If you do not want advice or discussion from someone in this community, you can also submit a request ticket through the feedback back section of the WiiM app. 🙂

I did submit a request, and I do enjoy gettting (and giving, if I can) advise. I just don't like being told that what I ask is stupid or useless, that's all. I think we're all novices here, trying to help each others, and respect should be part of the deal. Having said that, I must say that I've found many useful answers here

Of course, I agree with you.

But unfortunately, I did not feel any respect for @Mr Ee from your statement.

Hi Vignus,

We’re excited to inform you that we’re working on adding the Play Next feature for NAS, and we plan to release it this month. Stay tuned for more updates!
