Amazon Music songs breaking up in WiiM App

I have a WiiM Pro downstairs that I used during a resent poker party for background music. I was using the WiiM app on my phone to play the classic rock Playlist on Amazon. Songs were breaking up. At first I thought it was a wifi issue. I switched to Pandora and flawless the rest of the night.

Today I decided to troubleshoot. Using my tablet this time I played the same Playlist that still has the same songs on it. The classic rock Playlist from Amazon. Using the WiiM app the sixth song down by Journey started to break up again. I switched to Amazon music and cast to the pro from that. No breakup. Sounded good.

I am still trouble shooting. I want to switch cables. I have no trouble with the Mini in another room. I will try a process of elimination. But I will submit a ticket if necessary.

I've been playing the classic rock hits Playlist on WHA's AMU for about 30 minutes and it's fine on my Ultra, even the 6th Journey was uninterrupted.

After doing some equipment exchanging and looking at cables I have found that my optical input on my DAC lost the little door and my optical cable is sloppy in the connection. Good news for everyone but me. For now I just switched to Coax. Why it played well in the Amazon app and not the WiiM app is beyond me, but everything plays well now.

How were you casting to the pro?
I'd suggest that a loose optical connection was causing issues at higher sample rates, perhaps also explaining why Pandora worked.
