Why is the amazon selection within the wiim app not in the same format as if I go directly to the amazon app outside of wiim? The format of amazon inside wiim is not very user friendly in the user detail. Tidal has a nice format but not my amazon unlimited subscription. Is there a way to get amazon app details inside wiim app like using the amazon external app?

Amazon integration is very poor we all agree.
-No 2 ways sync of favorites (you cannot hit like or heart Amazon music content from Wiim home app, other than stations).
-Nor even 1 way sync of favorites works well, often it fails and we see different list of favorite artist/songs /albums as discussed in this thread
-Album and tracks artwork not shown at all in favourites or browsing Amazon music - my music as discussed in this other thread

In theory Amazon's new API is coming into newer Wiim releases but that's been in the roadmap for a while and see no progress so far.

I consider this a major flaw of the app that should be prioritized higher than many other little things here and there...hope @WiiM Team solves soon.

Regards

The APIs that streaming services like Amazon supply to third parties for inclusion in their app are almost universally poorer than their own native streaming service app. Indeed, for Amazon you'll find they don't even have the same look or features across their own website or mobile, tablet, PC or fire tv apps. If possible, you should choose the native mobile app and cast (using AlexaCast in Amazon's case) to your WiiM device to get access to the full feature set

Yes, and Amazon's API currently used by Wiim is the poorest. But Wiim is not using the latest Amazon Music API, acknowledged in their roadmap and in the ticket responses I got.
We don't see so many complaints and obvious bugs from Qobuz, Tidal and others, right?
So it is fair that we complaint.

Wiim probably isn't using using the latest Amazon Music API as it's still in a closed beta viz. https://developer.amazon.com/docs/music/API_web_overview.html

I'd guess WiiM are involved in that but can't release anything till Amazon gives the OK and I'd guess certifies their implementation. Until then, WiiM and others are stuck with the current API.

As I said, using the native mobile Amazon Music app and AlexaCast gives you access to the best interface that Amazon can currently offer

Any idea if this will be an update or require a new device purchase?

I'd be very surprised if it were anything other than a new firmware version

Edit: my only caveat to that would be re the WiiM Mini. I suspect it doesn't have the capacity or power to take any new and significant firmware updates given it has a quarter of the RAM and half the CPU cores of its siblings.
