How come there’s no automatic gain reduction when RC boosts gain on certain frequencies? The result right now can be severe clipping.
When I run RC on my Ultra, it applies a total gain boost of 7-8 dB in a mid bass frequency range. When this is not compensated by lowering gain all over the frequency spectrum, it results in really bad clipping. If I run a chirp and sine sweep, I hear it very clearly. Same if I play a track with lots of mid bass.
I solve this by manually setting volume limit, in my case 85%, since I measured clipping at 90% and want some headroom.
I assume most people using RC won’t even understand they have clipping, let alone how to fix it. Auto gain adjustment would make sense to me, at least as an option.
