Can someone explain the Auto-Sensing function for Line-In on the Pro+? I may not understand exactly what this is supposed to do.

I use music streaming services like Spotify, plus a CD player and a TT as sources. While the streaming services come in to the Pro+ directly via WiFi, the other sources are hooked up to a simple passive switch (to pick between TT and CD) and the switch is hooked up to the Line-In on the Pro+.

I was hoping that the Pro+ would sense if there's sound coming from the Line-In and switch to the Line-In automatically.

For example:
I play Spotify and have the Pro+ set to WiFi In, all good. If I then play a CD, I still have to switch from WiFi to the Line-In on the Pro+ to hear the CD (even if I stop playing Spotify before I start playing the CD). Likewise it won't switch automatically back to WiFI from Line-In when I start playing Spotify.

I'm pretty sure I just don't understand the Auto-Sensing for the Line-In (or Optical In for that matter).

Help/clarification appreciated. Thank you!

We will proceed under the assumption that you already have this toggle turned on.

As far as I know, Line-in auto-sensing usually works this way.

Switching from Wi-Fi to Line is only possible while music is stopped. Switching during playback or standby is not possible.

Switching from Line to Wi-Fi works unconditionally. (during playback, idle, or standby).

As @hgo58 said, you need to stop the music before switching from Wi-Fi to Line, but from your post it looks like you have already tried that.

Btw, if you disconnect the "Passive switch" from the WiiM and connect the CD directly to the WiiM, does the auto-sensing work correctly?

I don’t have access right now but will try what’s suggested here as soon as I do.
Thank you!

My Pro Plus is the same, although I am using Optical-in not Line-in. All the settings are correct, but if I've been streaming and then stop the stream and put a CD on via the Optical in, nothing happens, even if I wait a few minutes. I have to select Optical from the WiiM Home App, which is not a big deal, but as I've mentioned previously, the auto sensing would be a very helpful feature if it worked. :)

PS: It does switch from Optical to WiFi automatically however.

Hi Erebus,

Could you please kindly send us a feedback ticket from the WiiM Home App? We'll resolve this issue promptly. Thank you again for your support and patience!

Please respond in the forum when resolved. People here is trying to help but it is hard if we don't get the needed information from @WiiM Support .

I've accepted that manual selection is a better way to go. And to be honest I've not had a good track record with sending tickets and I'm fearful that tinkering will stuff up something else. It's no effort to select Optical when required.
