I think that’s just the 128kbps stream, better using the higher quality HLS streams from this page for example https://garfnet.org.uk/cms/tables/radio-frequencies/internet-radio-player/https://garfnet.org.uk/cms/tables/radio-frequencies/internet-radio-player/You can play it via the Open Network Stream function using the stations URL

But that’s not impacting the HLS streams I posted above, is it?Just remember that Aunty intends to withdraw Shoutcast streams (128kbps mp3) shortly and push people towards using BBC Sounds. They claim to be "in discussion with manufacturers" but have some track record of unilaterally changing the goalposts without due regard for consumers using Internet radio devices to listen. They did this when they introduced HLS/Dash.
You can however use the BBC Sounds app on your phone and stream it via AirPlay to your WiiM or use your WiiM with LMS, the UPnP/DLNA bridge plugin and the BBC Sounds plugin.
R5Live Extra is available via BBC Sounds.
Yeah, but there are enough exceptions to that after the TuneIn debacle (including Sonos, Linn, maybe Naim etc) that I don't see that door closing soonNo. It doesn't affect HLS/Dash but that is not to say that the end game isn't BBC Sounds only. They certainly want to know who is listening which isn't currently possible without BBC Sounds.
Why can I no longer listen to BBC live Radio (Shoutcast)? | BBC Sounds
If you can no longer play BBC live radio on your internet radio device, it is likely it was using the Shoutcast streaming technology, which the BBC no longer supports. We will continue to support BBC live radio online using HLS and DASH streaming technologies which will be available to the BBC’s...www.bbc.co.uk
Doesn't work on my streaming deviceYou can play it via the Open Network Stream function using the stations URL

UK. I am able to receive all other BBC stations that I've tried except 5 sports extra and I'm unsure why.
Yes, tried all links to no avail. The only way I've found is to cast from BBC Sounds from my phone. Thanks for your responses anyway.
