Bluetooth Output Latency Fixes?

Setup: In our bedroom we have an Apple TV running to the TV using a pair of HomePod minis in stereo. We also have a split adjustable bed with internal speakers for each side (separate Bluetooth). Unfortunately there is no audio input of any kind for the bed, it is purely Bluetooth. I have a WiiM Mini now set up for each bed. They are not grouped.

I looked for a bunch of solutions (Bluetooth transmitters/receivers, etc.) and WiiM seemed to be the closest thing for my use case.

What I’ve been trying to solve for:
  1. Being able to stream a single source of music to both beds from either my iPhone or Apple TV (unbelievably you can’t do this stock from the bed manufacturer without sacrificing the whole point of independently moving the split beds). The WiiM Mini has solved this, turning both beds into Airplay devices.
  2. Being able to stream TV/music to BOTH the two beds AND to the HomePod minis. Technically the WiiM Mini has also solved this BUT the Bluetooth lag from the WiiM to the bed is greater than the 1,000 ms it lets you adjust for. (It’s close, though. Maybe somewhere near 1,500 ms). I assume the WiiM is receiving the AirPlay signal at the exact same time as the HomePods.
Item 1 is elegantly solved and happy with that, even if it’s as far as I can get. Would be nice to eventually figure out a solution for Item 2.

So my questions:
  • Are there other settings to turn off that could improve Bluetooth latency?
  • Don’t know if the manual sync settings can go more than 1,000 ms. It appears if you use Optical out, you can adjust to 3,000 ms in a different section (would be nice for the same to occur for Bluetooth, but maybe that’s not possible.
  • Or maybe there’s something else I’m not thinking of.
