Can’t edit presets

How do you edit presets? I can’t see three dots mentioned in instructions / FAQ - neither in the “edit” nor in the normal mode

The only things I can edit if presets were already created are their existence (delete) or order. All other advertised aspects like volume or EQ are not present.

I have WiiM Mini but nowhere in manuals of WiiM Mini, WiiM App or WiiM Remote I could find a mention that presets capabilities are restricted there.

And why would such a restriction exist even? How much space you would need on the device to save information such as volume or eq levels? 1kB?

Maybe the Mini doesn't have Smart Presets yet.

The firmware in each WiiM device, while broadly similar in many areas, can differ for a variety of reasons - each has a separate development cycle for one thing, and in the case of the mini, it only has a quarter of the ram and half the number of cpu cores as its siblings and lacks many features of its more capable siblings so bringing smart presets to it may present challenges for it that don’t occur in the more powerful devices.

The best way of determining when editable smart presets will come to the Mini (they are in its roadmap after all) is to raise a ticket direct to WiiM via the more/feedback section in the WiiM home app.

WiiM really should improve their communication if that’s the case. Other than checking roadmaps there is no information to find that Mini is not supported (at least yet). It’s borderline false advertising. The main reason I’ve just bought a WiiM remote was using presets for EQ without necessity to open the app. A functionality promised in the Remote description (and announcements here) but not delivered.

Ok, but let’s check the roadmap. It lists the functionality in upcoming features for 10/15. And It’s bolded with the “beta” mark.

Is it 10/15 2025? Or was it 2024 but it was delivered as beta? I assume bolding means “delivered” (but it’s never explained)?
If it’s delivered as beta then why if I hit “Join Beta Testing” button (in the “device info” section) it shows “no beta firmware available”?

WiiM, please try to upgrade your communication. I have no problem with waiting for promised functionality. I even understand (not that I am happy with) that the cheapest device in the lineup gets updates as the last one. But do not promote functionalities without disclaimers if they’re not working across the whole lineup (and try to make the roadmap more clear) :(

The WiiM Mini firmware release page (or the appropriate forum here) can help check if any particular feature on the roadmap has been implemented.

As I suggested, contact WiiM directly via the feedback section in the app if you wish further information.
