Can I have line out and multi room wireless speakers?

Hi, just received my Pro Plus. It's connected via Ethernet (I can also do a wi-fi connection if required). I'm using it to stream both Spotify and my FLAC library (via DLNA on a USB stick on my router) to my old stereo amp and passive speakers. I'm using phono leads from the Wiim Pro Plus Line Out to the Aux input on the old stereo. So far, so good, it's working great for both.

However I would like to add at least one more wireless speaker to the system so I can have the same music playing in 2, maybe 3 rooms, i.e. have the old stereo playing over Line Out, plus 1 or 2 wireless speakers in other rooms all playing the same thing at the same time. Is this kind of grouping possible? If so what would I need to do it please? I'm guessing I can get something like one or more Audio Pro A10 Mk 2 speakers, but it's not clear to me if these can be played all grouped together alongside the line feed into the stereo unit? Grateful for any tips or advice here, thanks!

When you play WiiM (or compatible Linkplay) devices in a group, all will play the same audio to whatever they’re connected to whether that be an internal speaker or via an external connection to an amp, so yes, your suggested setup will work.

Excellent, thanks very much for the confirmation. I did try connecting to a portable BT speaker I have, but that was a non-starter as I soon discovered that for the Pro Plus, playing to Line Out and BT Out is an either/or option, not both :-(

Off now to google what Linkplay is and which speakers support it... Thanks again!

That's the same with all WiiM devices. Bluetooth has nothing to do with playing to a "group".

Linkplay is the company behind the WiiM brand. They sell their streamer modules and customised versions of their software to other brands. While these are not WiiM devices and the software is not identical, they usually support the creation of groups of devices. Since you mentioned the Audio Pro A10 Mk 2, I assumed you already knew about it containing Linkplay technology.

Thanks, it's all becoming clearer now. I'm a Sonos escapee looking to more-or-less recreate what I had for years before Sonos started dumping on their customers. The matrix of what you can connect to what with Wiim gear, and how to group stuff is honestly a bit confusing for newcomers. And I've read some flat-out wrong stuff on other forums. I had read here about how some users are using A10s with Wiim gear but had no idea who or what Linkplay is! And having now read further, I think I'll wait until the new Wiim A10s become available in my location (UK), hopefully soon. Thanks again for clarifying.
