Hi All

My issue is that my Wiim Amp Pro is in a room adjacent to where I often sit. It's an open layout and I have my listening chair in front of my speakers, the rest of the time I'm at the dinner table.
On my phone and on my PC I use Youtube music and like to just chromecast the music to the device. However with the 1 hour max sleep setting I have to get up and go to the device or find the remote to turn it on.
I want to be able to just cast the music to the device and have it work not get up and down all the time to keep turning it on. It's a major issue that is putting me off the device.

What's the solution?

Thanks

Tim

Admittedly, I don't use Youtube Music, but with every other streaming source (including those supporting Google Chromecast), I just have to start streaming to my WiiM Amp Pro and it will switch on automatically.

Are you saying that this is not case using the Youtube Music app?

Why are you using the sleep setting?

Hi

It's the standby mode if it goes into standby I have to use the remote to get it to wake and react to me casting music to it.

Thanks Tim
If you go into youtube music and select the chromecast icon then select your amp from this list it should wake your amp up. It does on the Ultra, I don't have the amp to test this

Mine is waking up from standby, no matter which streaming source I use. I csn e,g, googlecast from the Radio Paradise Android app and the WiiM Amp Pro will wake up from standby immediately. Same for the WiiM Amp and the WiiM Ultra.

Let's start from the beginning. :)

When your Amp Pro is in standby, does it show up as a Chromecast target in the Youtube Music app? Does it show up in the Google Home app?

Does it go into standby if music is playing then? Like others have said it should come out of standby anyway when playback starts. Does it come out of standby if you play a Radio station?

Hi

Yes it shows up as a device. I then select it and Youtube music app shows a spinning circle that stops and starts. After 30 seconds it goes back to playing through the phone/pc speakers.

If I power the Wiin amp on using the remote and try again it connects and plays in a couple of seconds. Its all ok after that until it goes into standby again

Also, please post your current firmware version. This is definitely not the expected behaviour for the WiiM Amp Pro (or any other WiiM device).

What about Google Home?

Hi
Firmware is 5.2.707244

Yes I have a google home, speakers etc etc
BTW it seems to be working for now

Next issue is HDMI arc in not working but optical is and volume on optical is low. But those issues might be down to the TV

Some tv's have a low output. You could try going to audio input in the settings of the amp and scroll down to pre-gain and turn up the optical in value.

I'm talking about the Google Home app that is used to manage not only Google's own products but also smart home stuff and - this is why I'm asking - Chromecast enabled devices like the WiiM device (except for the Mini).

It's working now without you changing anything? Not even removing the mains power for a minute or two?

What's your phone, btw? If you have an iPhone there might be something else to consider regarding Chromecast ...
