Chromecast - Full Dynamic Range

While checking Chromecast firmware versions in Google Home I noticed that there was a setting under Device Information > Audio for the Wiim Pro (and CA Evo 150 but not Chromecast) called Full Dynamic Range that was set to off. Does setting this to on do anything? I found this: Chromecast Audio

Since the full dynamic range is always turned on at the optical digital output,

On = Output source as is
Off = Output with reduced dynamic range (smoothed)

I think this is a function similar to the dynamic range setting of AVR.

Strange - I don't see that option in the google home app for any of my pros, just for my chromecast audio puck.

I have just noticed that this option is available on my iPhone but not on my Samsung (Android) tablet.

Could be 'cos I've an android tablet then.
But I hardly ever use chromecast, so...
