Connecting to Sony DAT in

Can I connect my Wiim Ultra to a Sony "DAT in" safely?
My Sony system is from the 90's

Yes. I have an old Sony Mini Disc connected on the optical input and output. Just have to set WiiM output to 24 bit / 48 kHz (or 44.1 kHz). I guess you can do the same with the DAT?
