I am wondering if I can connect my old Harmon Kardon (circa 2000) to the Wiim Pro in an unconventional way. Can I leave the turntable, CD, etc connected to inputs on the Harmon Kardon amp. Then connect the Wiim Pro to the tape out of the amp. The Wiim would stream into the amp by way of the tape in. Why would I want to do this? Because I can leave my turntable and CD Player as is, connected to my stereo amplifier and have physical controls to turn on/off. I am not sure this is the best way, just asking if this is possible. Thanks.

Should work yes. Whatever you select on the Harmon should appear on you WiiM. I do something similar with my Marantz receiver. I use the Zone 2 out for this purpose

I wouldn't say this configuration is unconventional. I am using it the same way on 2 systems. You are using it like any other audio source. You just happen to be connecting it to something labeled "tape".
