I primarily use AirPlay when streaming to my WiiM Minis. This is because I use YouTube and some apps that are regional (not AMER/EMEA) so there is no support within Alexa.
One of the things I like with my one Sonos speaker is that even if I play any music even via airplay, I can still ask Alexa to pause/resume/increase volume/next track using my voice. This is super useful when I can start playing with my phone, but can control using Alexa.
I am trying to do something similar with WiiM but looks like this is not possible. The closest is the WiiM app where no matter who sends music via Airplay, I can see album art and can control pause and resume.
I have added my WiiM as a speaker to Alexa, but I can't control it unless I specifically start music via Alexa.
Is it possible to add this functionality to Alexa similar to how Sonos does it?
