Forum Feature: Deleting Account

Hi everyone! While our admins and moderators are happy to help out, we've added the ability to delete your own account to the forums.

Just go to your profile dropdown and you'll see the option:


Currently, it'll set your account for deletion in seven days, so you have a little time to log in and cancel the deletion. Once an account has been deleted, it will be unrecoverable, so please use this with caution. There is no magic admin feature to restore a deleted account, it's just gone. The username will be anonymized but the posts will remain for the sake of community cohesion.

Hi, just tried this on an old “rescue” account I had (when I couldn’t contact admin after they changed my old moderator account permissions) and I’m told I don’t have the permissions to delete the account. Could you please check it works for mere mortals?

Thanks for checking! The mere mortals usergroup has been granted the permission now.
