Very clear from messages on this forum, Auralic’s and that at naim show that a lot, a lot(!), of owners enjoy Hires (320) BBC radio services, perhaps far more than manufacturers and service providers believe.

Some way to keep these easily available on an ongoing basis, unlike just now for instance, without faffing about would be very welcome for many.

The BBC Sounds plugin on Lyrion/LMS seems to be coping well. And personally I wouldn’t have thought that chromecasting from the bbc sounds app was all that much of a faff being as it’s not that far removed form using Spotify Connect or Alexacast etc, but then again I’m not a believer than the WiiM home app has to be the universal, all singing all dancing app covering all services.

But I appreciate I may be in the minority holding that view :)

Oh no, it’s dead easy to stream from BBC Sounds. Doesn’t sound as good though…

Shouldn’t sound any different as Chromecast can more than accommodate the 320kbps bbc stream - I’ve had Chromecast support a lossless 24/192 track no problem.

Must be something awry somewhere if it sounds worse

HEOS (TuneIn) and Cambridge Audio have not had problems with BBC Radio recently (in the UK) so it can be done.
