Hi,

I am brand new to wiim and online radio and never used a "streamer" before.

I managed to get the wiim working and updated.

The app doesn't have any instructions (I don't see them) but I notice all kinds of services such as spotify, amazon music etc.

Do I have to sign up for these services individualy? How do I get wiim to see these, because it just takes me to those websites.

Can I edit the list of all these services that appear on my app (most I will never use)?

Also, how to do find and add internet radio channels?

The only radio channels I see are BBC?

I appreciate your help.

Thank you
Colinio

On the "more" tab in the WiiM Home App (WHA) there are access to manuals and FAQ.

You can "manage" what Services to show.
Some services you need to login to, others your can just select and search in.

Spotify is not integreret into WHA, so you will need to use the Spotify Connect in its app.

Radio channels are either in the TuneIn and vTuner services or you can add the station URL directly in the "Open Network Stream" service

Hi thanks for your reply.

I'll try tonight. Not sure what the "Open Network Stream" is yet but hopefully I'll figure it out.

Being able to access Internet Radio through the wiim was the biggest draw for me.

I wouldn’t worry about open network stream at this point as I’m sure you’ll find loads of internet radio stations in vTuner and TuneIn.

Open network streamer is only used if those services don’t have the station you’re after (or only have it at a lower quality) and you have access to the station’s internet streaming URL which might be a bit overkill for your immediate needs. However, for reference, see this post https://forum.wiimhome.com/threads/list-of-radio-station-urls.1518/

You may have already found a way to do this, but you can do it by tapping the Manage button on the right side of Music Services and turning off any unwanted services.😄

There are very many excellent and high SQ radio streams available free and primarily music without adverts and interruptions, if you invest a little time using the "Open Network Stream" option on the Ultra and trawl the list within the attached Summary table I'm sure you'll find it beneficial -

I use Lyrion/Logitech Music Server on my NAS to store and cast radio stations to my WiiM via Squeezer on Android (or the server web interface on my laptop). If you have a NAS or a Raspberry Pi, or something that you're content to leave running, then this could be a potential solution, especially if you find that the WiiiM App be lacking on this front.

Yes, many ways to skin the cat. ;)

"Music Services" directly built into the great WiiM Home app represent the easiest of them.
This includes directly supported stations like e.g. Radio Paradise or BBC Radio.
It also includes aggregating services like vTuner and TuneIn.
Finally you can look for streaming URLs and enter them into the generic Open Network Stream.

If you're looking for another level of complexity, you can install additional media servers to your NAS or HTPC or Raspberry Pi or whatever. Each to their own.
