Hi, I've had a wiim amp for a while now and I'm happy with it, but:

1. I use tidal connect (I think this is the best way to stream music in the best possible quality). I control the music from my phone, but the TV screen remains black, and I would like to see the cover, title, etc. there. Too bad the wiim doesn't have a built-in tv display. I have an android tv, there is a tidal app, but it doesn't sync with tidal connect (that's weird too). How do you guys deal with this? Spotify did it right, because the tv app syncs with spotify connect, but as we know - the quality of music on spotify is poor.

2. Does room correction now work properly when the measurement is done with a (flagship) android device? I get very strange results like +8 dB on some frequencies.

1. The HDMI connection on certain WiiM devices is for audio input from a TV ARC connection, it doesn’t support video. Tidal doesn’t behave like Spotify for whatever reason but that’s outwith WiiM’s remit.

2. Room correction on Android devices is best done with an external mic such as the Dayton Imm-6c - there are just too many different Android phones and microphones to rely on any consistency, flagship doesn’t come into it.

These peaks are simply due to flagship Android device microphone quality. :) It's a sure sign that you shouldn't attempt full range room correction.

Once WiiM will support the import of calibration files, external mics like the Dayton iMM-6C or the miniDSP UMIK-1 can be used to their fullest. It's unlikely you can obtain a calibration file for the mic built into your phone, unfortunately.
