Hi @WiiM Team,
First of all, congratulations. 😄🎉

  • Advanced Thermal Design: Designed with an innovative thermal management system that includes copper, aluminum, and graphene heat sinks, ensuring reliable performance even in the most demanding conditions.

With the new thermal management system, by how much will the top panel temperature of the amp pro improve compared to the amp? (If the heat is dissipated from the top panel, the top panel temperature of the amp and the amp pro may not be much different?)

I am a weirdo who wants to put an Echo dot on top of a WiiM device and am wondering if stacking it on top of an amp pro would be a problem. 🤔

(I like to do it this way.😄)

Is 6E ready out of the box? Ultra was advertised with 6E but doesn’t work on 6E router on 6ghz.

Hi WiiM Community,

We are excited to introduce the WiiM Amp Pro, the next evolution in streaming amplifiers, designed for audiophiles and home entertainment enthusiasts. With advanced Post Filter Feedback (PFFB) technology, this amplifier guarantees high-performance sound regardless of speaker load, elevating your audio experience. It features the latest Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 (with BT LE audio support) for seamless, stable, and high-fidelity streaming, perfect for any hi-res audio streaming demands.

Really been looking forward to this to replace my original WiiM Amp (which I will move into my home office setup). When will the Amp Pro be available for US buyers to purchase on Amazon? That's how I bought my Amp. **Edit** Didn't see the 9/25 date at the bottom of the announcement, my bad. I'll be buying one next week then!

sorry..
the old in dollars?
(found ...299 in amazon.com ( 349 when it comes out?) , +27%)
(pffb and took care of the cooling on the amplification side a little more? useful...)
we can imagine that once the amp lots are sold off they will be able to make a price effort on this revision...

It remains to be seen how it comes to fruition of hardware...

Let us know if it sounds better than the original amp. You can always send it back if you can't tell the difference 🤣

I'm very familiar with Sabre DACs, I am confident the audio quality of the new Amp Pro will be noticeable. That alone is worth an $80 premium in my book.

Jezus its like a broken record, one person says something on the internet and everybody complains about it on every topic. You purchase a product to play the best possible quality and youre going to use something that sounds equal to bluetooth? Right
There's always someone that will complain about something on the internet. Fact. What I don't get about all the Airplay hubbub is that the primary use case for most people with the WiiM devices is online streaming, is it not? Then why would you even need Airplay in the first place? If the user is trying to pass content between more than one system in their home, then the WiiM boxes are inexpensive enough, just buy one for each system, no? If these things were $1K, $2K and up streaming boxes like some brands, then I get it, you'd want full functionality for all desirable and conceivable goodies. But these boxes are in the $100 to $300-ish range, some people are just never satisfied I guess.

You don't buy WiiM products for the absolute best quality, but also for the convenience.

I'll take this as a confirmation that Airplay won't make its return to the WiiM family of devices soon so guess I'll be getting an Ultra next month.

it seems to me that in this case of "mini system"..
the pffb is the big point...
the amp dac was not a real limit, even quite consistent with this type of modest device,
the absence of pffb, that on the other hand, is notable... (because it mitigates, attenuated a known "defect" of this amplification approach)

if this new dac is certainly a "nice" thing , it is especially in view of the differents experiences of wiim products, the quality of production leaving the chinoix workshop which will be to be monitored.. .
commercial brochures etc. in this type of product it is rather to be put into perspective.....
(personally I find shame, even if consistent with just a revision, the absence of a pre-out, like we had or have a lot of minisystems, for possible developments etc and ps I always find it regrettable that the isolated type HP sockets..be carreful)

This seems like a useful workaround, although it unfortunately requires running another electrical item, probably 24/7. It is a shame that the same issue preventing AirPlay on the Ultra (whatever that is) is now affecting subsequent WiiM products too.

There are questions here asking who, on earth, would want to use AirPlay when there is so much alternative functionality available. While that opinion likely holds for most contributors to this forum, there are many others, including family members, who just want to stream music from their iPhone in the easiest way they feel is possible. Yes, they could consider Bluetooth or be educated about the WHA or various Connects, but I think most would rather just use AirPlay if they could.

If you need pre-out for external amp - then Ultra is the way to go 👍🏻 same DAC and even better connectivity

to go to the end of the little minisystem concept..
pre-out if need to evolve, and ,in my opinion would have made even more sense than on the ultra, a small classic just MM phono stage... and 2 sub output "stereo or mono" via pre-out..
;-)
on the next "amp ultra or max " version?

;-)))

Airplay is also by far the easiest way for me to output sound from my computer. I just set the sound output to the Wiim device, and no matter where I am in the house, sound will play. It also takes into account the audio delay when watching videos, so there's no manual fiddling with audio/video offsets, it just works.

If it were to become just as easy to set the entire sound output (and not just individual applications) to the Wiim device via UPnP, I'd use that, but for the moment that isn't possible, so I can't buy new Wiim devices that lack Airplay because I wouldn't be able to use them as effortlessly as I do now.

(Not to mention you physically can't hear the difference between 256kbps AAC and lossless sound in everyday usecases where the kitchen hood is on, where the kids are running aroud and the neighbours are drilling holes into all of their walls, anyway.)

Airplay 1 doesn’t support multi-room synch, but it supports lossless.

My end strategy is Sonos ports for streaming content, multi-room sync, and Wiim amp pros for room correction and power amp.

Also, for TV. I already have the Ports.

I believe you can buy an $89 Wiim mini to receive Airplay, and attach to the amp via optical.
