Yes, just like when we use our phones or rotate the wheel. I can't see the point of increasing it by 3 steps so that it i always to loud or to low when using the remote. I'm old school and love to put the phone away while listening.
Agreed, 1 step increments is the best. Please please implement it. Or even better like my Audio Analogue amp which has 4 settings for how the volume increases, why not have 3 or 4 different volume scales for the Wiim that gives you some flexibility.

A good compromise then would be a variable-rate control. The longer you hold the button, the larger the increments of change... with a single tap = 1dB.

Or maybe not entirely this "The longer you hold the button, the larger the increments of change"
but something like “If you hold for more than 1 second, the volume will increase in increments of 3.”
(There is no need to have more than 3 in my opinion)
You can then press the button quickly, as many times as you want, and the volume will increase by one

The cruise control button on my car does this -- a quick up or down push gives you a 1 mph speed increase or decrease. Hold it for a second or two and it runs in 5 mph increments.
