I am familiar with class AB amplifier design and repair/maintenance. One thing almost all the "vintage" or even modern legacy brand audio amps have are relays that hold off the connection to the speakers until the power supply and amp have stabilized. Those relay are connected to circuits that detect excessive temperatures, current draw and DC offset on the speaker outputs.
I don't hear any relays clicking in my Wiim Amp Pro. I assume that the TI class D amp chips monitor all sorts of fault conditions, including a lot of things that probably don't affect class AB amps. Can someone from Wiim comment on the nature of speaker protection built into the different amplifiers?
