Make Spotify playback order match Spotify UI

If I start playback of a Spotify playlist, the playback order on the Wiim is different that what the Spotify UI shows. It even includes songs not in the playlist, as if Smart Shuffle is always enabled with no way to change it.

I've attached a screenshot of the Spotify app in Windows, playing on my Wiim. You can see that Shuffle is off, the playback order is not the same as the playlist order, and there is a song in the queue that is not in the playlist.

What is the app on the right?
It does not appear to be the WiiM home app.
(You cannot view Spotify queues in the WiiM app..)

Is release radar, auto play etc even available when using Spotify Connect?

From my understanding, yes.

I have never used Spotify on Windows, so I don't really understand what the screenshot posted by the OP is showing.

That window on the right is the Queue. It's the same as tapping the Queue icon on the lower right of the Now Playing screen on the mobile app (well, Android... not sure about iOS). If Shuffle is off, the track order of the Queue should match what you see in the playlist window.

Yes, it is. When you play from the Spotify app, the device you're connected to shouldn't limit what you can play (or change the order).

I was only making the point because I’m aware what you can control when you are using Spotify Connect compared to playing on the same device as the app can differ e.g. when using Connect , it appears you can’t turn off autoplay viz. https://www.theverge.com/2021/11/10...nect-autoplay-default-speaker-music-streaming

Also, you may note that the Playback section under the Spotify app settings actually totally disappears when you cast to another device (open that page in the app then connect to a device) suggesting that while using Connect you have no control over the options that section offered.

Though I like Spotify, I need to state, the ongoing changes in GUI, user experience and focus towards customer wishes in Spotify is is horrible!

Absolutely. The endless teases about lossless is infuriating. Unfortunately, my entire family is thoroughly embedded in the Spotify ecosystem so I won't be cancelling anytime soon. I'll probably end up springing for a Qobuz subscription for myself anyway.

Understood. Thanks.

I played the release radar in the Spotify app on my Android phone, connected to WiiM and checked the queue. The listings match perfectly. Hence, it could be an issue with the Win version of the app.🤔

At least now I can turn off autoplay. 🙂

I think itis mainly for the playlists 1 to 6…
Actually sometimes it works … 😯
I thought that it might come from different devices - I am not sure if every device gets kind if different playlists - in my case I have also an ipad and I tought they are interfering with each other…

Interesting, that could be the issue. I'll have to test with some other devices...
