I have local files on my NAS that I play via my Onkyo AVR, but the WiiM Ultra would be for Apple Music (for me).

I did not have to specify a color though? I thought there was a dark gray and a silver version?
. Ik had hem in mijn winkelmandje en was aan het chatten met ze en plotseling werd ik eruit gegooid en was ie uit mijn mandje verdwenen. Tevens is de Ultra ook niet meer te vinden op de site. Vervolgens weer gechat met ze en het is niet meer te bestellen voorlopig....It's €25 with DHL Express. I was able to select free shipping to Belgium

As per our conversation on ASR (or to continue that conversation here), I don’t think the Ultra is necessarily the best vehicle for Apple Music at the moment with its absence of AirPlay support. When AirPlay for the Ultra will achieve certification is anyone’s guess at the moment. You might be able to Chromecast it from Android device, but for now Bluetooth would be your only option if you had an iOS device. And if you’re planning on using the Apple Music Classical app, I’ve read that doesn’t have a casting option, so again it might be constrained to Bluetooth.

Thanks, I was maybe confusing it with me searching for Apple Music and Chromecast a few days back on another wild goose chase…
Heyy ja, klopt. Ik had het later nog een keer geprobeerd en toen gewoon weer beschikbaar om te pre-orderen voor € 319,00 incl. btw en verzendkosten. Gelijk maar gedaan voordat ik (weer) te laat ben haha. Mooie deal voor die prijs. Waarschijnlijk ga ik Fosi Audio ZA3 (misschien 2 in mono modus) of Fosi Audio V3 mono als versterkers gebruiken. Wellicht later ook een (betaalbare maar goede) externe DAC toevoegen (maar welke?) als het geluid mij nog niet (geheel) bevalt of op-amp(s) vervangen in de Fosi versterkers. Ik weet niet wat meer effect heeft.
Ik ben er nog niet uit wat betreft de Fosi Audio V3 mono versterkers. Hoor verschillende verhalen maar steeds komt het "hitteprobleem" terug en sommige mensen vinden het geluid tegenvallen, ook (een stuk) zachter t.o.v. de ZA3. Ook hoor ik verhalen dat ze V3 mono juist beter/mooier vinden klinken dan de ZA3. Op YT vertelde een reviewer dat de V3 mono misschien niet de juiste keuze is als je een "bright" systeem hebt (versterker en/of speakers). Voordeel van de V3 mono vind ik dat er geen volumeknop meer is, auto uit/aan en PFFB Load Independence (wat het precies inhoudt en of je het verschil hoort weet ik niet). Lastig...

I currently own a SMSL SU-6 DAC, but I'm confident the Ultra will sound pretty much on par with it and I can use the extra space so I'm going to put it up for sale right now

I don't have a (power)amplifier at the moment to try out the Wiim Ultra. I just have a NAD C700 which i will sell if the Wiim in combination with the Fosi Audio amplifier(s) will equal or surpass the SQ of the NAD C700.I would gladly give it a try, comparing it to my other phono stages. I've been surprised before.I can bet MC owners won't be using the Wiim Ultra as a phono stage.

+1 I'm pretty intrigued actually by the fact that the RIAA correction takes place in the digital/software domain. Should be near-perfect.
That's by actually casting your system audio... far from perfect, but yes might get the job done for some people.

Yeah, I read you could do it from the now playing widget, but that might constrain it to 24/48 which might not actually be an issue for most.
