Menu Map?

It would be very helpful to me to have a menu map (or menu tree) for the WiiM app. Does one exist? If not perhaps there could be a way to community source one, e.g. have a shared space where folks could add a few entries to it so over time it would be complete.

Thoughts?

Some complication will be added by the fact that not all devices share exactly the same menus.

If that included screenshots, it could turn out to be rather a large display if it were to be legible…

As you know, WiiM is updated frequently, so this will be an endless project like Sagrada Familia.

As a matter of fact, when the Mini was launched in Japan, I created a simplified manual for the community in my country. But information quickly becomes outdated. It is necessary to plan well at the outset.

If you still want to challenge, I will help you as much as I can.😄

The amount of work is why it is only feasible to me if it is a community effort. If a whole bunch of people worked on building and maintaining it, it would be a few minutes per month per person. But most people would probably rather spend their time arguing over whether cables or power supplies can make a difference and the like.

I think it is more difficult to continue such a task than to start it. But I hit the Good button on your post. 🙂

Edit:
If you are to do this, how would you start?
I have no experience managing such a forum and don't know how to create my own tree.
If I am not mistaken, you can create a tree with up to 4 levels using threads.

WHA Home (Forum List: 1st level)
L 5 menus (categories in forum list: 2nd level)
L Sections, descriptions within sections (Threads: 3rd level)
L Instructions for the settings menu within the section (replies: 4th level)

Something like this?
The device menu may require further hierarchy. Also do we need permission through @RyanWithWiim.

Yes, that is how I would do it. I am not what the best tool to use would be. I was thinking perhaps a spreadsheet that supports outlining or a word processor that supports indented lists.

But after thinking about this further I think WiiM should be able to automatically generate a map as all of this information resides in their WiiM Home App in an organized format. If necessary, it should be a simple task for an AI tool to scour the WiiM Home App code, extract the information for a map and provide a visual representation of it.

It would be a lot easier if the AI could do it all.😂

If we could automatically map the tree structure of the WHA and automatically get screenshots of each section, all we would have to do is write a description.
