MIMO in RoomFit

I'm curious if there would be any possibility to implement MIMO (as used in Dirac ART) in the Wiim Ultra RoomFit. As far as I understand MIMO allows the speakers to work together to cancel or reinforce each other to even out bass patterns. I saw that the author of A1 Evo AcoustiX has added this capability for the sub and main speakers in his Denon Audyssey replacement. I have no idea what sort of processing this requires; just wondering if it was a possibility.

I don't know if this is even possible given the computational capabilites of Ultra and Amp Ultra, but before this I would like to see more PEQs, import/export from/to REW, or convolutional filters. MIMO tuning is much more difficult than the SISO case and its implementation should be more difficult than other improvements.

I think once REW implementation happens, Acoustica creator could probably easily implement his tools on the WiiM Ultra so it’ll be automated like how he does it with Audessey based devices.

That is a really great request!

IMHO MIMO has a really big potential for improving sound quality, and in my mind it is the next logical step beyond the current SISO design of RoomFit (and most other room correction tools). I'd also say that MIMO has much more potential than the more common phase or impulse response corrections (which are still just SISO).

@WiiM Team @RyanWithWiiM Is there any chance that the "RoomFit+ Evolution" from latest roadmaps might be based around MIMO?

Any concise literature on this subject that you would recommend?
If it's so effective in treating serious conditions... our topic... would be interesting...

(Ps
But again...
a dialogue with the competent technical managers in charge of everything related to DSP processing at Wiim would be very welcome... the volume management, with almost too many options and the impact of DSP processing on our Wiims, according to other forums... is driving me a little crazy, haha.....
Perhaps the first topic for reflection on streamlining should be addressed. ;-) ....)

Well I guess this article could work as a high-level introduction: R&D Stories: The Arrival of Spatial Room Correction Technology (AudioXpress). In context of acoustics, most of the articles on MIMO seem to be related to Dirac products, but there are a lot of articles on generic MIMO signal processing in other fields.

I'll take a look.

But anyway, at my place, Roomfit can't communicate with the servers, so it's unusable...
But above all, the lack of gain adjustment (or even balance control) not linked to my presets in PEQ mode makes it unbearably tedious to use... It's not appealing.
🤪😥
