MixCloud chromecasting to Ultra not working

New Ultra owner … setup went swift. The Ultra is connected to a ethernet switch and mainly used with Spotify/Qobuz and internetradio.
Occasionally I like to listen to DJ-Sets on MixCloud. This is only possible by casting using airplay or chromecast.

The Ultra has the capability to chromecast ..so everything should be ok.
So I opened the MixCloud on an iPad selected a DJ-Set …hit Play and selected cast to Ultra via chromecast.
A short sound is played while doing so followed by pausing playback …hit play again doesn’t start playback.
In the meantime DJ-Artwork for selected show is displayed on Ultras screen.

So something is casting but not the show/music itself …stays paused…and I have to quit casting actively.
Tried this with an iPad/iPhone/Pixel/GalaxyTab…with same effect ….casting from MixCloud to the Ultra was not possible. Tried other apps using chromecast worked well. So the Ultra is setup ok and running!

But!… I have 3 more streamers on the same network ….cambridge/bluesound/volumio raspi…and the very same MixCloud App(s) is casting without any problems…using the same iOS and Android devices.

So it seems to me this is a MixCloud/ Ultra issue? All devices/apps are running latest versions.

Anyone else encountered the same problem? …hints? …possible solution?

There have been issues with Chromecast on Ultra. You’re best submitting a ticket to WiiM via the more/feedback section of the WiiM home app so they can diagnose your logs.

I have experienced the same described issues with mixcloud and the ultra casting from a android phone, have resorted to Bluetooth.
