I have an old 6 zone Niles whole home system and want to upgrade. The existing system has quality speaker pairs in each room, all hard wired with speaker wire pairs and Cat-5 cabling with all of it home run to a central location (where the Niles amp resides). My goal is to upgrade to a more modern system that is connected and I'd like to stream Spotify (typically) to each zone from an app. We don't typically stream music to more than one or two rooms at a time...very seldom do we want to stream the same thing to multiple zones so that isn't a real need for us.
What would you recommend doing? It seems I have a few routes I could take...mostly around whether I keep the Niles amp and use Wiim to stream to it....or, forego the Niles amp and get Wiim devices with amps built in (one for each zone). I'm not sure if there are other options or which would be the most logical route to take. Any advice would be immensely helpful! Thank you.
