Newbie question(s) again :)

Hi,
I just got hands on Wiim Ultra. I have couple of Q (couldn't find any info on Wiim support site or on other forums).

Atm I have connected Ultra to amplifier Denon X4200W via optical cable (could not connect it any other way).
I would like, if possible, connect Ultra to TV. On Wiim support I saw that you have to connect it via HDMI ARC but I use this to connect Denon to TV.

So my question is how to properly connect Ultra to Denon amp and if possible to TV, I need like something ''How to...for dummies''

Welcome.

May I ask why you want to connect the ultra to the tv?
All you'd do is plug the hdmi from the tv into the wiim instead of the denon, but tbh I'm not sure why you'd want to.

If you were thinking that you could get the ultra's artwork etc. on the tv then you can't, the ultra hdmi is audio arc only, not video. i.e. it's purely for getting the tv audio into the wiim.

Hey Mr Ee, that's was the idea, to get like a playlist visible on tv (like with AppleTv, Plex,...).
So then it is only visible on phone, tablet. Good to know.

There are a lot of posts about other ways of achieving this, to varying degrees.
One quick and dirty, temporary option is to screen share your phone/tablet to the tv.

I will add that we've seen some really creative options from the community around the topic and are looking into if there's something on our end to bring a solution to album artwork on TV. Not a spoiler or promise of any sort, just letting you know that we've seen the discussion and interest

Yeah, the tv solution was teased here, but a fire tv solution would be equally welcome

If the offer for tv is artists' photos (as suggested in the firmware release notes) then no thank you. What we want is a Now Playing page with album/track artwork (including radio tracks where there is metadata).

I also have AppleTV and you get used to this when listening to music

Also I just realised that only mono comes out via optical cable. Find this very strange.
Any idea why?

That’s TV settings unless you’ve set the ultra to downmix stereo to mono.

In the app I set optical out (which goes to amplifier). In settings is set to stereo vi optical. What am I doing wrong?

Check your TV setup as well.

I managed to make it work with RCA, had to change some settings on the amp.
